Iona Singleton somatic and existential therapist specialising in trauma-informed psychotherapy

My approach is deeply human, I will walk beside you.

Iona Singleton is an integrative psychologist MSc, currently completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology & Existential Psychotherapy.

About

I work integratively with a somatic and existential focus. Alongside clinical practice, I am also a lecturer, somatic educator, and yoga teacher.

I came to therapeutic work through a career in music, spending over a decade touring internationally, working alongside musicians, and collaborating with music and mental health organisations. I continue to hold a deep belief in the healing power of the arts.

My work is shaped by a cross-cultural life. Born in the UK, I currently live in Germany, and have also lived in India and the United States, while working internationally across Japan and Central and South America. I have lived in ashrams across India, training in Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga, practices that continue to inform my life and work. Five years in New York City brought me into the heart of community health: working across harm reduction centres and researching how holistic and body-based approaches can support healing in the context of addiction and trauma. Alongside psychology, somatics, and existential psychotherapy, I have trained in Western and Eastern herbal medicine and in Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté. These experiences inform my sensitivity to culture, identity, belonging, and the many ways healing is understood across the world.

I’m nourished by movement, nature, and travel. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: healing happens in relationship, in safety, and in being met, within and without.

I offer a space to slow down and be with what is. I work relationally, which means the relationship between us is at the heart of the process. I draw from psychology, existential and Eastern philosophy, and body-based traditions - yoga, somatics, breathwork, and meditation.

Sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly or fortnightly, online or in person. I am based between Cologne/Bonn, New York, and London and work with clients internationally.

My fee is £120. I hold a number of reduced-fee spaces for those who could not otherwise access therapy. Please mention this when you get in touch and I’ll let you know what’s currently available.
